    The Sydney Cove Medallion

    A cream-colored medallion.
    A deep blue jasper medallion.

    The most famous of Josiah Wedgwood’s medallion creations is the anti-slavery one. The second is the ‘Sydney Cove Medallion’, made in 1789, and is of historical significance to both Wedgwood and Australia. This article canvasses how the medallion was made, and also covers other important Australian-themed pieces.
